Escanaba Minor Boys Overwhelm Tri-County, 12-0
![]() ESCANABA---The Escanaba Minor Boys (age 9-10) opened district tournament play with a 12-0 win over Tri-County Thursday at Dickson Field. The win follows the boy's championship in last month's Yooper Tournament. Escanaba scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the second, ending the game on the mercy rule in the fifth inning. Marshall Zelenak had a two-run double, while Hunter Lancour added an RBI single and Nathan Howes hit a double (after fouling one off of the porta-potty moments earlier). Casey Bray pitched 2 2/3 innings to earn the win, allowing no runs or hits. Nick Rosseau and Jager LaMarch also pitched for Escanaba, combining to throw a one-hitter. Tri-County's Mike Rondeau started and gave up five runs in the first inning. Dakota Maki threw the final 4 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs.
