The Escanaba Binks Coca-Cola PeeWee’s won the championship of the 26th Annual Marquette/Iron Range Holiday Invitational last weekend. Escanaba was able to win the 12-team event by beating Negaunee in the championship game, 3-1. The Bink's PeeWees lost the first game of the tournament on Friday, but rallied.
There's been a lot more publicity about concussions in football the past few years. The Upper Peninsula Youth Football League in Delta County has purchased new high-tech helmets that can alert coaches and officials that a concussion may be possible.

The U.P Youth Football League began last week, but kids participated in practice Tuesday in Escanaba. The kids got their helmets fitted, along with doing some drills as teams.
