Last-Minute Rally Falls Short For Gladstone Indians
![]() GLADSTONE---Dan Martin hit a two-run homer and Zach Hanson added an RBI singlein the seventh inning for the Gladstone Indians, but the comeback falls short ina a 7-6 loss to the EUP Travelers Friday in Gladstone. The loss came as the Indians committed four errors, leading to five of the EUP runs being unearned runs. In addition, Gladstone stranded eleven baserunners. ![]() The Travelers batted around in the inning, scoring five runs on four hits, along with three Indians defensive errors. Trevor Wigglesworth had the two-run hit after Rudyard All-Stater James Burton doubled. The Indians were down, 7-3, when the bottom of the seventh Cody Frappier was hit by a pitch and rode home on Martin's long home run to right field against EUP reliever Jake Hopper. Cooper Cavadeas then drew a walk, and with two out, Hanson's RBI single made it a 7-6 game. Braeden Lamberg then walked, and the Soo went to the bullpen. The Travelers brought in Sault High ace Logan Bailey, and the Bay College recruit struck out Ben Kelly swinging with the tying run at third and the winning run at second.
