Escanaba Freshmen Fall Short vs Norway JV's, 14-8
 ESCANABA---The Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils did not have enough healthy and eligible kids to bring to Escanaba for a ninth grade football game against the Eskymos. So, rather than sit around and accept a pointless forfeit from the Blue Devils, Eskymo Coach Dave Wilson's team scheduled a last-minute game against the Norway Knights junior varsity squad. A Norway JV team with just one loss, but it was a game.  
Norway's Bryce Broden touchdown run
The Knights scored with ten seconds left in the second quarter, and then Bryce Broden scored early in the third quarter to make it 14-0. The Eskymos played well in the fourth quarter, with Scout Wunder and Cody Vandermissen leading a drive that resulted in several big runs. Wunder scored the touchdown from four yards out, and Vandermissen had the two-point conversion. Late in the game, Escanaba has two chances to win the game as the defense forced the Knights to punt. But the offense sputtered on both opportunities, and the game ended with the Eskymos frantically trying to move the ball into the Norway Red Zone.
