![]() PERKINS---The Gladstone High School basketball team used an up-tempo offense to score the game's first 15 points, and the Braves never let up on the gas, rolling to a 98-38 win over an outgunned Mid Peninsula Wolverines team Thursday night in Perkins. Reece Castor led the way with 40 points, while Brad Spindler added 17 points and ten assists. Rudy Peterson scored 12 points and Jack Stephenson added ten as the Braves moved the ball around quickly and had four players score in double figures. ![]() Brower finished with ten points, and fellow guard Duane Englund was limited to eight points. Mid Peninsula has just seven players on the varsity team, and just seven more on its junior varsity club. Gladstone's freshman team topped the Wolverines JV team, 48-34, after the Braves ninth graders were trailing at halftime. It's the final meeting between the two teams, as Gladstone will play in both the Mid Peninsula Conference and Great Northern Conference next season, for a total of 20 games. Gladstone will face another Class D team for a final time next Tuesday, with the short trip to Rapid River. That game will be broadcast live on WCHT-AM (600), and it will be streamed on-line at www.rrnsports.com.
