Rockets Finish 9-0 Season With Homecoming Win
![]() RAPID RIVER---The Rapid River High School football team closed out a perfect regular season Friday night with a 42-28 win over the Bellaire Eagles in Rapid River. The win on Homecoming gave the Rockets the Bridge Alliance Conference Championship, and set the team up to host state playoff games, starting next weekend. Friday night's game was close all the way, as the Rockets had to play over three turnovers and a half-dozen penalties in the first half alone. The game was tied, 28-28, in the fourth quarter, when Austin Wicklund scored what turned out to be the game-winner. Rapid River will find out Sunday night who it will play in the first round of the state playoffs next weekend. The Rockets' game will be broadcast live on WGKL-FM (105.5), WCHT-AM (600), and on-line at www.rrnsports.com.
