Former Escanaba High School and Northern Michigan University football standout Jace Daniels has been re-signed by the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Daniels was cut from the Bucs' practice squad in September and had returned to Marquette and was roofing houses before getting the call Tuesday to return to Tampa.

Escanaba native John Barnes was hired Friday as the new women's basketball head coach at Youngstown State University, a NCAA Division I school located in eastern Ohio.
