The Gladstone Major Little League All-Star softball team (age 10-12) won the District Ten championship Tuesday night, beating Escanaba, 5-4, in Iron Mountain. Gladstone ran the table in the district, including an earlier 1-0 win over Escanaba. Gladstone advances to the state tournament in the far southwest Lower Michigan of Schoolcraft on July 10.
Gladstone 12u Boys Advance To District Title Game
The Gladstone Major Boys Little League All-Stars (age 10-12) advanced to the District Ten championship game on Tuesday, beating Iron Mountain, 4-2, in seven innings at Howes Field. In the consolation bracket, Schaffer eliminated Norway, 3-2, cutting down the tying run at the plate to end the game. Iron Mountain and Schaffer will play on Wednesday, and then Gladstone takes on the winner in the championship game on Thursday.
NMU Men's Basketball Announces '25-26 Schedule

NMU's Walker Closes Track Season At Nationals Crystal Walker of the Northern Michigan Track & Field team competed at the Division II National Championships on Friday, May 23. She was one of 22 athletes in the country to make the national stage in the 100m hurdles. Results can be found here. Recently named All-Region in the 100m hurdles and long jump, Walker has had a stellar season for NMU. At the GLIAC Championships earlier this month, the native of Portmore, Jamaica, ran a time of 13.68 in the 100m hurdle prelims, setting a new school record.
