Gladstone Wrestlers Win UP Title; Eskymos Second
 MARQUETTE---The Gladstone Braves had five wrestlers make it to the finals, and three of them won championships to lead the Braves to the Upper Peninsula Wrestling title Saturday night at Marquette High School. Gladstone junior Austin Demeuse continued his string of tournament victories by taking the 160-pound U.P. championship. He defeated Manistique's Tanner Gonzalez on a pin in 1 minute, 47 seconds in the final. Earlier, Demeuse beat St. Ignace's Trevor Mattson in the quarterfinals with a pin in 4:32, and then in the semifinals, Demeuse defeated West Iron County's Shae Mattson on major decision, 17-4. Demeuse was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.  In the semifinals, Beauchamp pinned Manistique's Dylan Stephenson in 2 minutes, 38 seconds, while Wunder pinned Marquette's Cole Artensen in 3:35. At 130 pounds, Gladstone freshman Adam Bruce continued his hot streak of tournament wins by beating Escanaba sophomore Ean Bevins in the final match on a pin in 1 minute, 14 seconds. Bruce had three straight pins after receiving a first round bye. He beat Negaunee's Elek Kalloinen on a pin in just 21 seconds in the quarterfinals, and then in the semifinals, Bruce pinnedWestwood's WyattMakosky in 1:11. In his three matches, Bruce wrestled a grand total of 2 minutes, 46 seconds. Bevins, meanwhile, got to the final by beating Menominee's Devin Bournonville on a major decision, 13-2, and then in the semifinals, Bevins beat the Sault's Issac Corbiere, 13-2. Bruce's older brother, James, also made it to the finals for the Braves at 171 pounds. He lost a 4-0 decision to Aaron Bolo of Iron Mountain and settled for second. Escanaba's Breyden Papineau finished third and Bark River-Harris's Tyler Labadie was fourth.  Escanaba's lone U.P. champion was sophomore Courage Krueger at 119 pounds. He defeated Munising's Nick Miles in the finals on a 13-7 major decision. Krueger made it to the finals with two pins: over Gwinn's Josh Filizetti (34 seconds) in the quarterfinals, and then in the semifinals, a pin over St. Ignace's Anthony Barkley (36 seconds). Escanaba heavyweight, Mo Hoque, also reached the finals, but lost a tough 1-0 decision to Sault Ste. Marie's Chase Bouschor. Bark River-Harris's Robby Broeders was fourth. Gladstone won the team score with 222 points. Escanaba was second with 184 points. Below are all of the final results by weight class. Team scores as well.
