TUNING UP: Norse Roll Past Lake State JVs, 99-52
![]() ESCANABA---The Bay College men's basketball team went on a 29-4 run in the first half and rolled past the Lake Superior State University junior varsity team, 99-52, Tuesday night in Escanaba. Five players scored in double figures as the Norse rebounded from last Saturday's loss to Dakota County. ![]() They hung to within 19-15 before the Norse went on the big run, with all twelve players on the active roster playing big minutes and scoring at least once. It was 60-21 at halftime. Center Christian Alexander was dominant in the first half, scoring 12 points, including a slam dunk. Alexander made all five of his field goals. Center Kobi Barnes also had a slam dunk, and he made all four of his shots from the floor. Freshman forward Logan Hardwickhad ten points and added eight rebounds, and fellow freshman Ryan Arndt drained three triples and scored eleven points. The Norse also had good gaurd play, as Marcus McKenney had 12 points and five assists and Ryan Robinette had 15 points and was credited with four assists. Dondre Yohe was able to get back on the court after dealing with a nagging injury, logging 13 minutes and scoring four points. Luke Mattson played eleven minutes and contributed a three-pointer, and he grabbed two boards. ![]() For LSSU, Iron Mountain native Tanner Huotari scored 12 points, all of them in the second half. Adam Moffatt added ten points and Jaxden Perry chipped in nine points. As a team, Bay outrebounded the JV Lakers, 39-23, and had 26 assists to just nine for the visitors. LSSU chucked up 34 three-pointers, making eight of them. Bay College improved to 15-7 on the season. The Norse travel to suburban Milwaukee on Saturday for the first of two match-ups with Bryant & Stratton College.
