ADRIAN, Mich.---The Escanaba Cubs opened state tournament play on Thursday with a 4-2 win over Ida at Siena Heights University. CJ Barron earned the pitching win for the Cubs.
Escanaba later lost to the host Hudson team, 3-0. Justin Popelka took the pitching loss for the Cubs. Escanaba will face Gladwin in its next game on Friday at 11:30.
The game will be broadcast live on WCHT-AM (600) and on-line at www.rrnsports.com.
