Escanaba Wrestlers Finish Sixth At Merrill Tourney
MERRILL, Wis.---For the second year in a row, the Escanaba High School wrestling team turned in a strong showing at the Merrill (Wis.) Bluejay Challenge. Escanaba took sixth place out of 24 teams competing in the event...the same finish as a year ago. Escanaba was the only Upper Peninsula team at this event. The Eskymos had 332.5 points, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood (Wis.) was the champion with 432 points. Escanaba trailed Spencer, Wis., by 18 points for fifth place. The hosts from Merrill took second (391), and Southern Door was third (373.5).
