SAGINAW---The Bay College Norse women's basketball team cruised to another road victory on Sunday, beating the Kirtland College Firebirds, 96-48, on a neutral court at Delta College in Saginaw. The game was played there because of two weather-related postponements last week that prevented the teams from meeting in Escanaba.

Bay led 20-6 after the first quarter and 47-23 at halftime. The Norse continued to expand their lead throughout the second half to pick up the easy win.

Every Norse player who suited up scored at least one point. Sophomore Lauren Zawada led the way with 25 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. Fellow sophomore Makenna Hendrickson added 22 points, nine of them from the foul line.

McKenzie Hoffmeyer and Gracie Kleikamp both scored ten points in the win.

Kirtland (8-17 overall, 4-9 MCCAA) was paced by Kayla McCoy's 14 points. Lucy Hall added ten points and six rebounds for the Firebirds.

With the win, the 24th-ranked Norse improved to 23-4 on the season, 12-1 in MCCAA play. Bay will play for a share of the conference championship when they take on 15th-ranked and first-place Mid Michigan (24-3 overall, 13-0 MCCAA) on Tuesday in Mt. Pleasant. The game starts at 5:30 and will be broadcast live on FM-106.3.
