DES PLAINES, Ill.---The Bay College Norse women's basketball team finished its Illinois road trip on Saturday with a 92-53 loss to the Oakton Owls.
The Owls jumped to a 25-12 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, improving their record to 11-1 on the season and dropping the Norse to 4-7.
The Norse had two players finish with double-doubles in points and rebounds.

Norway High School graduate Jada Freudinger led the way with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Ashlee Burchette added 17 points and 12 boards for the Norse.
The Owls were led by Macey Gandee with 20 points, and Ellie Reynolds added 19 points, ten rebounds, five assists, and six steals on defense.
The Norse held their own in rebounding, with both teams pulling down 32 boards. Bay, however, struggled shooting the triple, making only 4-of-21 shots from behind the long arch, and Bay made just 19-of-32 free throw attempts. Take away Fruedinger's stellar 13-of-16 from the line, and the rest of the team was below 50% (6-of-16).
Bay also struggled to take care of the ball, committing 38 turnovers.
The Norse will try to start a winning streak next weekend with a pair of home games against Western Technical College out of LaCrosse, Wis., on Friday, and fellow Upper Peninsula team Gogebic Community College on Saturday.
