The Northern Michigan University volleyball team has released its 2023 slate of matches, including a trip back to Mackinac Island, nine home contests with special theme nights, and a midseason Midwest Crossover.

Coming off of a 23-9 season and a trip into the NCAA Tournament, the 'Cats return plenty of key contributors from last year. Alongside an impressive freshmen class, the Green and Gold have high hopes heading into the 2023 season.

After a highly successful first-ever "Match on the Mack" in 2022, the Wildcats will return to Mackinac Island on August 19th to begin the season with an exhibition contest against the Chippewas of Central Michigan.

Northern will jump into GLIAC play in the Vandament on September 15th and 16th with matchups against Davenport at 6:30 p.m. and Grand Valley State at 5 p.m., respectively. Saturday's game against GVSU will be part of the Homecoming celebrations and Alumni Day.

NMU will then hit the road for three straight including a Tuesday night meeting at Michigan Tech on September 26th at 6 p.m.

NMU will then be home for two consecutive weekends, starting with Ferris State on September 29th at 6:30 p.m. Lake Superior State will visit Marquette on September 30th at 3:30 p.m. as part of Youth Sports Day.
On October 6th, Parkside will be in town for a 6:30 p.m. contest. This matchup will mark Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. On October 7th, Purdue Northwest will visit the Vandament. The match time will be at 3:30 p.m. as NMU holds a 30th-anniversary celebration of the NCAA Division II National Championship teams.

The Wildcats will then participate in the Midwest Crossover on October 13th and 14th before staying on the road for back-to-back weekends with four tilts against downstate GLIAC foes.

On October 31st at 6:30 p.m., NMU will have a Green Out/Pack the Gym night as Michigan Tech visits the Vandament. Saginaw Valley State will then make the trip north for a 6:30 p.m. matchup on November 4th, with the theme of the game being Family Night with poster signings. The 'Cats will celebrate their seniors in the final home game on Saturday, November 5th at 3:30 p.m. against Wayne State. The match will also be Military Appreciation Day.

NMU will close out the regular season with a road trip to Lake Superior State and Ferris State on November 10th and 11th.
