LAKE WORTH, Fla.---The Bay College Norse women's basketball team dropped its second straight game at the Palm Beach Holiday Classic Saturday night, falling to Catawba Valley (N.C.) Community College, 61-40.
The Norse fell behind early and never tied or grabbed the lead in the game.

Bay played without two players who were ineligible for the game, and then had to play without Alaina Trudeau after she hurt her knee in the second quarter.
"You could definitely see feet in quicksand to start," Bay College Coach Matt Gregory said. "That was a very fast and we weren't able to get to our spots quick enough. They're very strong physically, too. Those two things put together put us behind very quick. It's very tough to come back from something like that, especially after the (exciting) game we had last night."
Bay trailed the Red Hawks, 21-8, after one quarter, falling behind by double digits for the second straight game. But unlike Friday's game against Palm Beach State, the Norse were not able to rally and make it a game.
This time, the Red Hawks held a double dogit lead all the way to the end of the contest.
The Norse trailed, 29-16, at halftime, and 43-27 after three quarters.
Alyssa Cretton led the Norse with 14 points. Stephanie Frappy added nine points and Emma Rutter chipped in with eight points.
The Red Hawks improved to 2-4 on the season. They were led by Keziah Soogrim's 17 points. Center Nijah Cunningham finished with 14 points and Rylie Hogg scored ten.
"When you play on the road, you've got to fight throug those things," Gregory said about the physical nature of the game. "Obviously, I wasn't very excited by that and I let some officials know that at times, that it was a little too chippy. That was not getting any attention our way, unfortunately. But, all in all, you have to take some good things from this trip."
Bay College fell to 4-9 on the season. The Norse come back from Florida Sunday night, and will be back in action on Wednesday in Ironwood against Gogebic Community College. GCC won the other two matchups earlier this season.
