CRUISE CONTROL: Norse Men Top Western Tech

IRONWOOD---All twelve Bay College basketball players found the scoring column Friday as the Norse beat the Western Tech (Wis.) Cavaliers, 71-51, in Ironwood.

The Norse jumped to a 23-5 lead and cruised from there.

The Cavaliers cut the deficit to nine, 39-30, at halftime, as Norse Coach Matt Johnson substituted freely throughout most of the game.

Ryan Robinette led the way with 12 points and six rebounds. Alfonzo Fields had ten points and eight rebounds. Kobi Barnes added ten points, all of them in the first half. Tyler Willette chipped in with eight points.

The Norse shot just under 50-percent (24-for-50) in two point baskets, and made seven of 27 three-point attempts. Bay reached the foul line just five times, making two.

The Cavaliers (4-6) 20 for 59 from the floor, including 5-for-24 from downtown. They got a game-high 16 points from Mhalik Lindsey, who also had nine rebounds.

Bay College improved to 9-5 on the season and will take on Leech Lake (Minn.) Tribal College. The Lakers beat Gogebic Community College, 71-70, Friday night. Saturday morning's game starts at 11:00 ET/10:00 CT. It will be broadcast on Maverick 106.3 FM.
