Marquette Wins GNC Cross Country Championship

ESCANABA---The Marquette High School boys and girls cross country teams won the Great Northern Conference championship Thursday at Escanaba's Ludington Park.

The Marquette boys were led by individual champion Luke Rambo (16:47), with Escanaba finishing second, led by Justin Sanpaka (17:39), who finished third.

The Marquette girls were led by individual champion Erica Asmus, with Escanaba finishing second as a team. Eskymo Nicole Kamin finished second individually.

The U.P. Finals are next week in Munising.
