Escanaba Tennis Ties Negaunee; Gladstone Loses

The Escanaba High School tennis team faced its biggest dual meet challenge of the season on Monday, and the Eskymo girls ended up with a 4-4 tie against the Negaunee Miners. The result kept both the Eskymos and Miners undefeated in dual meets.

Meanwhile, Gladstone lost on the road at Ishpeming, 5-3. The Braves won three of the four singles matches, but were swept in all four doubles encounters.

In other matches on Monday, Marquette edged Kingsford, 5-3, Westwood shut out Gwinn, 8-0; and Iron Mountain slipped past Menominee, 5-3.

The individual statistics from the Escanaba-Negaunee match were unavailable as of Monday night. The stats from the Gladstone-Ishpeming match are posted below.
