GLADSTONE---The Gladstone High School girls tennis team got wins from its top two singles teams on Monday, but lost to the Westwood Patriots, 5-3, at Pfotenhauer Park.
Gabby Movalson defeated Westwood's Megan Chapman, 6-2, 6-3, at #1 singles.
And the #2 singles match was a classic between Gladstone's Lauren Parrett and Westwood's Courtney Beauchamp. Parrett won the first set, 6-4, then Beauchamp countered to winn the second set, also 6-4. The third set went right to the end, and it went to a "super tiebreak" before Parrett won by a 10-5 score.
At #1 doubles, Westwood's team of Katie Rankinen and Shana Caliguri beat the Gladstone duo of Melissa Casey and Paige Schwartz, 6-4 and 7-6.
