NORWAY---The Norway Junior Boys (age 13-14) baseball team beat Petoskey and Houghton Portage Lake over the weekend to win a sectional championship.
The tournament started with Norway beating Portage Lake on Friday, 14-5. Then on Saturday morning, Norway blanked Petoskey in a five-inning game 10-0.
Saturday afternoon, Petoskey defeated Portage Lake 6-3.
Then on Sunday, Norway took out Petoskey and won the sectional 15-3, and will now head to the state tournament in the Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills.
The state tournament starts on Thursday, with Norway playing Taylor at 4 p.m.
