KINGSFORD---The Escanaba Eskymos knew that they would have to play an almost-perfect game to beat the Kingsford Flivvers in Monday night's Class B District game.
The Eskymos had trouble scoring against the aggressive Flivver defense and Kingsford cruised to a 46-34 victory at Kingsford High School. Kingsford jumped to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter and gradually built a 15-point lead in the second half.
Kingsford (17-4) was led in scoring by Carlee Benzie's 12 points.
Escanaba (4-17) got 11 points from senior Codi Jenshak. It was also the last basketball game for the three Eskymo seniors: Jenshak, Jessica Beauchamp, and Zoe Berquist.
