KIMBERLY, Wis---The Gladstone Indians pounded out 13 hits and beat Hortonville, 11-4, Saturday at the KBO Varsity Baseball Invitational in Kimberly.
Cody Frazer led the way with three hits while Paul Tomaszewski, Justin Jurek, and Jake Pearson all had two hits. Matt Weyers, Jared Stenson, Peyton Jurek, and Blake Ballard also added base hits to back up the picthing of Pearson and Lucas LaCosse.
Gladstone scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings to take a 4-0 lead before Hortonville managed two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. But the Indians put the game away by scoring six runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 10-2 lead.
Gladstone (24-7) finishes 1-2 in the tournament. The Indians will host Channing in a Mid Peninsula League game Thursday night at 6:30.
