Briones Scores 29 As Hematites Beat Braves, 68-44
![]() GLADSTONE---Alex Briones scored 29 points to lead the Ishpeming Hematites to a 68-44 win over the Gladstone Braves Monday night in Gladstone. Ishpeming led, 35-19, at halftime, with Briones scoring 20 of those 35 points. He had two three-point baskets, and six free throws, in the half. The third quarter was no better for Gladstone, as Ishpeming scored the first seven points of the second half. Eight players for each team scored baskets in Monday's game. Besides Briones's 29 points, Bobby Zhulke and Derek LeClare both scored 11 for the Hematites. Ozzy Corp continuted nine points. Dykowski was the only Gladstone player to score in double figures with his 13 points. Andy Olesak had nine points (including two three's), and Jake Peterson had a pair of three's for six points. Gladstone made five three-pointers; Ishpeming made four. At the free throw line, Ishpeming made 12 of 14 shots. Gladstone was 11 of 17. Gladstone hosts Mid Peninsula Thursday night.
