The 2024-25 men's golf season officially got underway in Bark River, Michigan this morning as Saint Mary's bounced back nicely for a second round team score of 1-over-par to jump into fourth place.

The Gaels were led by sophomore Avery Lazarski who finished even par on the day and junior transfer Go Nakatsukasa who shot the low round of the day for Saint Mary's at 2-under. Nakatsukasa shook off an 8-over first round and went low to help the Gaels jump two spots on the leaderboard and crack the top-five to end the day.

Veteran senior Connor Reis finished the day at 3-over-par which featured a +1 first round and a +2 second round to conclude a fairly consistent opening day. Three of the team's four counting scores in the second round were improvements from the morning round to help the team level out at 10-over-par.

The other counting scores in the second round came from Aidan Lee and Zack Missigman who each recorded a 73 (+1). Ian Bruchhauser also made his Saint Mary's debut in the event as an individual and put together a very solid round of 2-under-par to match Nakatsukasa for the team low. Bruchhauser sits at +6 for the tournament after his two rounds of action.
