STREAK OVER: Norse Men Fall To Mid-Michigan

PLEASANT---The Bay College Norse men's basketball team had its 27-game MCCAA North Conference winning streak come to an end Tuesday night, with a 100-91 loss to Mid-Michigan in Mt. Pleasant. Despite the loss to the Lakers, the Norse will still host the state championship this weekend, and Bay will be the top seed in next week's regional tournament in Flint. In the state championship weekend, Macomb Community College will take on Kalamazoo Valley College, Friday night, at 7:00, in Escanaba. The game will be streamed live on Bay's YouTube livestream. Then, Saturday at 1:00, Bay will face the winner, for the MCCAA state championship. The Norse lost that game to Henry Ford last year down in Dearborn. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Maverick 106.3 FM, and on-line through the AUDIO link posted at www.baynorse.com. In last Tuesday's loss to Mid-Michigan,Kairee Gadson led Bay with 29 points, making nine of his 13 shot attempts from the floor and sinking all ten of his free throw attempts. Ryan Sweeney added 16 points on six-of-nine shooting from the floor, and Genesis Kemp added 16 points on six-of-ten shooting from the floor. Baril Mawo had eleven points and six rebounds for the Norse. Bay scored enough points to win, but gave up way too many on defense. The Lakers were led by Delon McCloud, who led the way with 31 points. He made 12 of his 18 shot attempts, and that incluced making six of his none three-point attempts. Devin Watts added 15 points for the Lakers, as he made four of his seven three-point attempts. ![]() |
