Girls Tennis Players Win All-U.P., All-State Honors

The Upper Peninsula's best girls tennis players were announced on Tuesday as the Coaches Association named its All-U.P. and All-State teams.

In singles, Negaunee's Angela Ring and Kingsford's Katy Hicks were named U.P. Players of the Year, and All-Staters. In doubles, the Escanaba team of Kayla VanPortfliet and Emily LaFave (pictured above) were both All-U.P. and All-State.

Escanaba's Anna Burch was an All-U.P. First Team selection at singles, as was Gladstone's Paige Schwartz. Escanaba's Hannah Beversluis was honorable mention.
