Escanaba Wrestlers Finish Sixth At Merrill Tourney
MERRILL, Wis.---The Escanaba Eskymos had several wrestlers reach the podium at the Blue Jays Challenge Saturday in Merrill, Wis.
In one of the toughest tournaments in Wisconsin, Kaleb Rahoi took a first place finish in his weight class. Travis Heller finished third, and Hunter Sadler took fifth.
Sadler's finish was impressive because he won four matches, with his only loss coming
to a defending Wisconsin state champion.
Escanaba's Devin Olsen and Corey Chenier both finished seventh.
Escanaba finished sixth out of 25 teams, with 306.5 points. They were just 2.5 points behind fifth place Tomahawk. The Merrill Blue Jays won their own event with 538 points. Escanaba was the only Upper Peninsula team at this tournament.
