Six Braves, Three Eskymos Qualify For State Finals
Delta County will be well-represented at the MHSAA Individual Wrestling Championships later this month at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Six Gladstone wrestlers have qualified for the big show in Division Three, while three Escanaba wrestlers advanced in Division Two. Escanaba's Travis Heller won the regional championship at 160 pounds in Division Two on Saturday. Kaleb Rahoi was runner-up at 145 pounds. And Zach Priebe finished fourth at 130 pounds. Mo Hoque lost both of his matches at 215 pounds and was eliminated. For Gladstone, heavyweight Tommy Bailey won the regional championship in Division Three. Gladstone's Jake Cronick was a runner-up at 189 pounds, and Braves teammate Bradley Gagnon was a runner-up at 160 pounds. Gladstone's Jeremy Kadish finished third at 145 pounds, and teammate Jack Cronick took third at 215 pounds. And Braves sophomore Bobby Beauchamp was fourth at 135 pounds, also qualifying for the state finals in Auburn Hills. Gladstone's Kyle McKenzie, Kevin Priebe, and Sam Taylor did not make it to States.
