North Central's 1984 State Champions Recognized
 POWERS---It's been three decades, but the Spalding-Powers-Hermanaville community has not forgotten the North Central Jets basketball team that won the Class D state championship in 1984. Many of the boys...who are now grown men...were back in town Saturday night to be honored during a ceremony during the Jets-Stephenson game.  Jets Coach Bob Whitens, a U.P. Sports Hall of Famer, adressed the men. "Thirty years ago, you guys did something that a lot of people thought you couldn't do," Whitens said. "Well, it all comes down to one thing: you have to believe in what you have to do as a player, and as a coach."
