GLADSTONE---
The Marquette Redmen boys basketball team outscored the Gladstone Braves, 17-0, in the third quarter, and posted a 59-47 win Tuesday night in Gladstone.

The Braves, playing less than 24 hours after a heartbreaking loss in Manistique, hung with a sloppy Marquette team in he first half.

Gladstone led, 12-10, after one quarter, and trailed Marquette just 21-17 at halftime.

But in that third quarter, Marquette's pressure defense forced multiple turnovers, which led to two lay-ups by Jonas Bicik and one transition lay-up by Jordan DeMay.

The Braves rebounded to score 30 points in the fourth quarter, but they couldn't overcome the 38-17 deficit they had entering the final eight minutes.

Marquette got 17 points from David Eberhard and 16 from Bicik. Gladstone got 12 points each from Elliot Vitito and Kaden Gibbs.

The Redmen improved to 5-6 on the season. They will host Escanaba on Thursday night. The Braves fell to 3-9 on the season. They will host Kingsford on Thursday night.
