Final Racing Weekend At UP International Raceway

ESCANABA---The 6th Annual UPIR (Yooper) Fall Classic will wrap up the 2015 race season at Upper Peninsula International Raceway at the U.P. State Fairgrounds this weekend. UPIR is proud to announce Valley Med Flight as the title sponsor.

The local crew and helicopter will land at 6:00 PM EST on Friday, September 18 and 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 19. The landing area will be outside of the track on the west side of the grandstand. Fans can visit with the crew, get a close look at the helicopter and receive giveaways from Valley Med Flight.“

The two day finale kicks off Friday with pits opening at 3:00 PM EST. The grandstand opens at 5:00 PM EST on Friday with green flag racing at 7:00 PM EST.

Heats for Modifieds, Street Stocks, 600 Micro-Sprints, Sportsmen Micro-Sprints, Riverside Auto Junior Micro-Sprints and Bink's Coca-Cola Sport Fours will run Friday. Tuff Trucks with a $200 to win purse will conclude Friday's races.

The pits will open at 3:00 PM EST on Saturday, the grandstand opens at 4:00 PM EST and the show gets underway at 6:00 PM EST. Saturday's slate will be LCQ's (Last Chance Qualifier) and feature races.

Payouts for feature winners is $1500 for Modifieds, $750 for Street Stocks, $500 for 600 Micro-Sprints, $400 for Bink's Coca-Cola Sport Fours, $300 for Sportsmen Micro-Sprints and $200 for Riverside Auto Junior Micro-Sprints based on a minimum of 20 cars per class. There will be a payout for each racer starting the features.

Following the feature races on Saturday the popular Powder Puff and Mechanics races will run. The closing race will be a Bump 'N Run with four cylinder cars and $100 to win.

Grandstand passes are $7 for Friday, $10 for Saturday or $13 for the weekend, $3 for children 6 to 10 and 5 and under are free. Concessions and adult beverages will be available. No carry-ins allowed.
