Marquette High School Changing Athletic Directors
MARQUETTE---Marquette Area Public Schools Athletic Coordinator Jamie Tuma submitted her resignation on July 6 as she will be moving out of the area.
Tuma has served as Marquette’s Athletic Coordinator since July of 2009.
“I have learned invaluable skills, met and worked with fantastic educators, coaches and volunteers, and enjoyed being a member of a district that prides itself on excellence both in the classroom and on the playing fields.”
Replacing her will be Blaise Zimmer who has been named to the position of Athletic Director for the 2015-2016 school-year.
Zimmer comes to Marquette from Holy Cross Lutheran School in Saginaw, where he served as Athletic Director and a 5-8 teacher for the past three years. In addition, Zimmer coached basketball for eight years and was the Chairman of the Denmark Township Planning Commission.
“I am very excited to be part of the program and the rich history of Marquette Area Public Schools. I am looking forward to making my own mark on the program.”
He and his wife Nicole will be relocating to the area. Tuma will remain in her current position as Marquette’s athletic coordinator until this Friday.
