YMCA Offering Youth Golf Program At Irish Oaks

GLADSTONE---The YMCA Learn to Golf program is scheduled to begin Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Irish Oaks Golf Course Driving Range. The program which is designed to teach children the basic fundamentals of golf, will run from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday concluding on July 12th.

“Players will receive a golf themed gift at the end of the program” said YMCA Youth Sports Coordinator Boston Hood. “This is perfect for boys and girls ages 6-12 who just want to learn the game from the beginning.”

The YMCA has a limited amount of clubs available for use during this program.  However, it is recommended that participants bring their own clubs.  Registration for the program is available at the YMCA, on-line at www.nlymca.com, or by phone. Fees are $26.00 for Y members and $52.00 for the general public.

The program will be headed by Paxton Johnson, a four-time Upper Peninsula high school golf champion who will play at Northern Michigan University next year.
