ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School junior varsity football team scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and rolled to a 41-0 win over the Oconto (Wis.) Blue Devils Tuesday night at the Escanaba Athletic Field.
Quarterback Ethan Silverstone broke off a 51-yard run on Escanaba's first possession to set up a three-yard touchdown run by Kyle Krutina.
The JV Eskymos built their lead before the end of the quarter on a 16-yard TD run by Josh Bruntjens and a 29-yard TD run by Krutina.
Hunter Larson's short touchdown run in the second quarter made it 28-0, and Owen Baribeau scored a two-yard touchdown just before halftime to make it 34-0.
Silverstone made four straight PAT kicks before his fifth boot clanked off of the upright.
Tyler Livingston and Lucas Gestwicki both intercepted passes for the Esky defense.
Escanaba (6-1) closes the season at home against Kingsford next Thursday night.
