GLADSTONE---The Gladstone High School wrestling team stayed undefeated in dual meets Wednesday night, beating Ishpeming, 75-3, and Munising, 54-18, in Gladstone.
Munising, which came to town missing several wrestlers, beat Ishpeming in the other match, 42-24. Gladstone is now 17-0 in dual meets this season.
GLADSTONE 75, ISHPEMING 3---Amongst the Braves winners by pins: Austin Demeuse (171 pounds) and Doby Gillis (189). Alex Chouinard (152) and Jared Demeuse (215) won by decision. MUNISING 42, ISHPEMING 24---Among Munising's winners: Darren Costello, with a pin at 171 pounds. Amongst Ishpeming's winners: Justin Karnac (pin at 160) and Ethan Lahtinen (pin at 215). Video clips of the Costello and Lahtinen wins are posted above.
GLADSTONE 54, MUNISING 18---Gladstone then faced Munising in the third leg of the triangular. The Braves led just 28-18 on the scoreboard after Munising's Collin Murdock pinned Doby Gillis at 189 pounds. But Gladstone won the final four matches, with two of them coming on Munising forfeits due to a lack of wrestlers.
