Two Escanaba High School baseball players were named to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association's Division Two All-District Team. First baseman Brandon Punzel, shortstop Hunter LaMarch (pictured) are eligible for All-Region consideration.
LaMatch batted .435 this season with two home runs, 30 RBI, ten doubles, and 40 total hits. Punzel batted .301, with 14 RBI, six doubles, and 28 total base hits.
Also, three Eskymos made the All-Academic Team: Justin Popelka (3.96 GPA), LaMarch (3.80 GPA), and CJ Barron (3.76 GPA).
The Eskymos won a district championship in Sault Ste. Marie this month before falling in the regional semifinals in Gladwin last Saturday.
