TRAVERSE CITY---The Gladstone High School junior varsity baseball team scored five runs in the first inning and rolled to a 9-1 win over Traverse City St. Francis Friday afternoon in Lower Michigan. The win improved the JV's record to 9-7 on the season.
On Friday, Ben Kelly tossed two shutout innings to start, and then Carson Shea threw five innings, allowing one run. Cooper Cavadeas had three hits, including a two-run double to the fence during that five-run first inning.
Jared Demeuse and Shea both had two hits.
The JV Braves stay downstate to compete in a tournament in Cadillac on Saturday.
