Gladstone High School is looking for a new varsity boys basketball coach.
Dale Hongisto recently turned in his resignation, saying that it was a "family decision". Hongisto's daughter, Lexi, will be playing softball at Ferris State University starting next winter. And Hongisto has the job of being a Michigan State Police trooper.
Hongisto coached the Braves between 2005 and 2010, and compiled a 73-57 record. His best season was in 2009-2010, when the Braves went 18-6 and won a district championship before losing in the regional championship game to Petoskey.
After stepping away for two seasons, Hongisto returned to the bench in the 2013-14 season. His teams posted a 17-25 record over the past two seasons.
