ESCANABA---The Escanaba Eskymos won a pair of softball games Tuesday, beating the Kingsford Flivvers, 10-0, in both ends of a doubleheader at Lemmerand Park.
Jayme Frappier, Sam Connor, and Katie Ross combined to throw two shutouts in the pitching circle. They combined to allow seven base hits and strike out 13 batters in the doubleheader. Both games ended in the sixth inning on the mercy rule.
Michelle LaFave went 4-for-4 in the first game, and Becca Piron had an RBI triple. In the second game, Ross and Callie Heller were both two-for-three.
Escanaba (11-4) travels to Alpena on Friday. The Eskymos will then play three games on Saturday at a major tournament in Petoskey. Escanaba faces Detroit Country Day, South Haven, and Petoskey in that tournament. Check back here for updates this weekend.
