Braves Beat A's In Two Mercy-Shortened Contests

GLADSTONE---The Gladstone Braves cruised to a doubleheader sweep on Monday, 19-4 and 15-0, over the Alger County Athletics in Gladstone.

The A's are a new combo high school team featuring kids from Superior Central, Mid Peninsula, and Munising High Schools. Both games were called after four innings.

Gladstone scored nine more runs in the second inning, as Hunter Garling got a bases-loaded hit to drive home three runs. Justin Jurek's two-run homer capped the inning.

Nick Trudeau started on the mound and earned the victory. Gladstone hosts Escanaba on Tuesday. The game time has changed from 4:30 to 5:30.

The game will be broadcast live on WCHT-AM (600), and on-line at www.rrnsports.com.
