ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School boys basketball team used its depth to beat the Kingsford Flivvers, 59-49, in a Great Northern Conference game Friday in Escanaba. Four players scored in double figures as the Eskymos built leads as big as 20 points.
Sam Molnar and Danny Van Effen each scored eleven points, while Chris Rose and Tyler Skufca both added ten points for the Eskymos (2-0 overall, 1-0 GNC).
Dan Harrington led Kingsford (1-1, 0-1) with 21 points, while Noah Voss added 12.
Kingsford's last lead was at 18-16 in the second quarter. Escanaba finished the half by outscoring the Flivvers, 20-8, to lead at halftime, 36-26.
The Eskymos lead, 49-31, after three quarters and Coach Tracy Hudson was able to use some of their bench players in the fourth quarter.
