HARRIS---The Bark River-Harris High School girls basketball team overpowered the Marinette Marines, 61-40, in a season-opening game Monday night in Harris.
Caitlyn Frazer scored 17 points and Hannah Starnes added 16 to pace the victory.
The Broncos also used a tough full-court press defense to force nunerous turnovers.
It was the first game for new coach Paul Anderson, who takes over this season for longtime coach Joel Schultz.
Schultz coached the junior high school girls team this fall and will be the head coach of the Bark River-Harris varsity boys team this winter.
The Broncos took an 11-6 lead after one quarter, and it was an 18-13 game midway through the second quarter. BR-H finished the first half on a 12-0 run to make it a 30-13 lead at the break. The Broncos outscored the Marines, 21-14, in the third quarter.
