Next Up, Regionals!!! Eskymos, Braves Scrimmage

ESCANABA---The Escanaba Eskymos and Gladstone Braves met for one final time on the baseball diamond Wednesday night before heading their separate ways at regional tournaments this weekend. This game was a scrimmage and didn't count, but it gave kids on both teams valuable practice. Gladstone won the eight-inning game, 3-1.

The game was played with no umpires and no scoreboard, with assistant coaches serving as umpires. There were no walks, no hit-by-the-pitch.

The goal for both teams was to get several pitchers an inning or two of work, and to get in some swings before regionals.

Escanaba faces Newaygo in the Division 2  regionals in Cadillac on Saturday. Gladstone faces Traverse City St. Francis in the Division 3 regionals in Traverse City.
