Ten U.P. Football Players Named To All-State Team

DETROIT---The Detroit Free Press is out with its high school football All-State teams, and ten Upper Peninsula players are getting First-Team All-State honors.


Escanaba offensive lineman David Fix was a First Team pick in Division Four, and Eskymo quarterback David Falish was an honorable mention D-4 All-State selection.

In Division Five, Kingsford running back Reed Larson was selected to the First Team Offense, and Menominee defensive back Devon Harris is on the First Team Defense.

In Division Six, Negaunee defensive lineman Alex Dempsey, Gwinn defensive lineman Claude Redfearn, and Calumet linebacker Clark Kangas were all First-Team selections.

In Division Seven, two members of the state champion Ishpeming Hematites were First Team Selections: running back Eric Kostreva and offensive lineman Brad Wootke.

And in Division Eight, North Dickinson offensive lineman Dylan Dario and St. Ignace linebacker Joe Ostman were selected to the All-State First Team.
