IRON MOUNTAIN---The Kingsford High School hockey team dropped its season-opener Wednesday night to the Bay Port Pirates, 3-1, at the Mountain View Ice Arena.
Ted Pietila scored Kingsford's only goal in the second period.
The game was tied 1-1 in the third period before the Pirates from the Green Bay area scored twice to win the game. Bay Port outshot Kingsford, 15-3, in that third period.

The Flivvers are until Dec. 3, when they travel to L'Anse.
