The Munising Public Schools made the following announcement on Tuesday.

We are sad to announce that the Track and Field at Mustang Stadium are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The strong thunderstorms and related flooding that we experienced this past weekend resulted in significant damage to the north end of our track and also flooded two storage structures.

The flooding resulted in a wash-out/cave-in that impacts the entire track and will require professional repair. This also means that we have canceled the 3 home track meets that we had scheduled this season. Thank you for understanding as we want to avoid injuries or additional damage. We are working with our insurance company through the claims process and will update the public when the track becomes accessible again.
