NORWAY---The Kingsford 12u Major Little League All-stars won the District Ten championship Tuesday night, beating Norway, 3-1, at Marion Park.

The Kingsford kids are partly from south of the border: from Florence, Wisconsin, mixed with U.P. kids in the community that straddles the U.P.-Wisconsin border.

Logan McCoy pitched the first three innings, allowing one run (unearned) on two hits and four walks. Colin Olsen finished up, throwing three shutout innings, retiring all nine batters he faced.

With the game tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, Olsen smacked a two-run single to center field, which turned out to be the winning runs. Luke Rice hit an inside-the-park home run in the first inning for Kingsford. They will open state tournament play on July 21st in Petoskey.
