The Marinette High School boys basketball team came up short Thursday night against the Freedom Irish, falling, 80-44, in Marinette. Connor Eastman led the Marines again with 13 points. Donovan Davis had a double-double of 14 points and ten rebounds for Freedom. Marinette fell to 4-10 on the season.

Gladstone High School senior Lillie Johnson made Braves basketball history Tuesday night, passing Reece Castor for the all-time scoring record for the school, both boys and girls. A scary moment late Tuesday night for the Escanaba High School girls basketball team, as the team returned home after its game against the Marquette Sentinels in Marquette. Matt Janus has been named the 24th head football coach in Northern Michigan University history, announced by NMU Director of Athletics Rick Comley.
