Gladstone Braves Football Team Ranked #1 In U.P.

The first Upper Peninsula high school football poll is out from the UP Sportswriters and Sportscasters. The Gladstone Braves are ranked #1 in the 11-player poll and the two-time defending state champion North Central Jets are ranked #1 in the 8-player poll.

 

Behind the 3-0 Gladstone Braves are the 3-0 Negaunee Miners, followed by the undefeated Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils. The 2-1 Iron Mountain Mountaineers are ranked fourth, and the 3-0 St. Igance Saints are tied with the 1-2 Marquette Redmen in fifth place.

 

In the 8-man poll, all five ranked teams are undefeated. Behind North Central are Forest Park, Munising, Norway, and Pickford, in that order.
